Fashion // Kate Moss for Topshop Collection - First Look

I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Topshop, sometimes I will walk in and think "I'll take one of everything!", other times I feel that the clothing is totally unwearable in real life and you would be seriously laughed at if you walked down the street wearing it (I'm looking at you, Meadham Kirchhoff collection). Topshop does like to innovate and be ahead of the fashion game, but can occasionally become so preoccupied with trends that it loses touch with the target market and what they would actually wear on a daily basis; who really would wear a PVC apron dress or honey monster-esque coat after all? Then to put all my worries to rest, along comes Kate Moss with her first collection for Topshop in nearly four years, of which the look book and photos of the entire collection were released today - and all I can say is THANK YOU!

Kate Moss for topshop

Kate Moss must be one of the biggest style icons of the decade and has given many of us a serious case of wardrobe envy. You can just tell that Kate Moss' personal style really has shone through in this new Topshop collection and is very true to what is quintessentially Kate. The 50 piece strong collection covers a wide range of trends including vintage prints, muted metallics, fringing and silky tailored separates. Not only does this Topshop collection have you covered for the festival season with fringed jackets, embroided hot pants and ethereal vintage style lace dresses but there is also a great range of beautiful floor length gowns, 1920's style dresses and jackets absolutely smothered in sequins and beads that look like they're hot off the red carpet. Overall the collection just echos Kate moss' signature wardrobe style, it's glamorous yet laid back, edgy yet wearable, modern but with a vintage twist; I will go as far to say it's my favourite collaboration Topshop have done in a VERY long time. Unlike other collaborations, just like Kate Moss this is effortlessly cool and trendy - not garish and trying too hard to be 'on trend'. This highly anticipated collection will be launched on 30th April - prices haven't been released for individual items yet but I've heard they could be up to an eye-watering £600! Slightly out of mine and many student's price ranges but mixed in with these high priced items are more affordable pieces under the £40 mark. Even with the more premium price tags, I can still imagine this collection being in high demand come release day and will be a guaranteed sell out.

What do you think to Kate Moss' latest collaboration with Topshop?

Amie xx
