Toby thought he'd interrupt my photo taking session :)

I can't believe it's been so long since I did an outfit of the day post. I blame the horrible winter lighting as I work throughout the week and miss the majority of the daylight hours! Though I have now bought some lighting lamps so hopefully I'll be able to make more use of my evenings and take more photos instead of relying on getting some free time at the weekends when it's light! This outfit is pretty casual but at the same time you can still get away with wearing it out for the evening. I got the T-shirt, jacket and shoes out of the January sales as I love shopping for bargains! It's also great for getting some on trend items at a snip of the original price - I'm all about shopping on a budget!

I especially love these ASOS metallic flats, I've seen metallic shoes and accessories all over the place and I think they will be must have statement pieces for spring. Metallic accessories really do jazz up an ordinary outfit as well and work well with both dark and pastel colours, so you're guaranteed to get a lot of wear out of them even when transitioning from winter to brighter spring clothing. I also picked up this French Connection T-shirt out of the sale, I love a simple logo T-shirt and I've picked up a few of these over the past few days as logo T-shirts are also another big trend for spring.

As my outfit is still very wintery and dark, it works well with my wine coloured ASOS skort and tartan check New Look jacket. I love this ASOS skort, it's so simple but very easy to wear both casually and dressed up. It's a very versatile piece and as skorts have proven to be so popular within the blogging community, I know I can carry on getting lots of wear out of it and as retailers are constantly adapting the shape and colours of their skorts I know I can even pick up some more summery ones to wear in the warmer months! I've had this New Look tartan coat for a while but I've only worn it a couple of times so far, though it's great to have as a thicker jacket rather than wearing a big winter coat. I still haven't jumped off the tartan bandwagon, so this jacket is an easy way to incorporate the pattern into my outfits. I also think this tartan jacket will be great with some black trousers, blouse and some statement heels for an evening look, I think it's another versatile piece and I really do love oversized boyfriend jackets to add an androgynous edge to an outfit.

Amie xx

  3. It was gorgeous. It is also very fitting and really inexpensive for the kind of dress it is. It got to my house before estimated arrival. I highly recommend it!!
