I can't believe how long it has been since I did an outfit post! I literally don't know where all this time has gone, since being on my placement I've just been so busy and now we only get light until 4pm I don't get home in time to take any photos! My only chance is when I have a free day at the weekend, and even those are a few and far between if I have plans! This Saturday I went to the East Midlands Blogger Meet Up which was SO awesome (I will write a proper post on it later in the week). Sunday was my chance to have a lie in and have a chill day. My outfit sort of reflects this as it's quite casual and laid back, I didn't really go anywhere apart from a pub lunch with the family.
It was quite mild so I just wore my trusty leather jacket and dug out my ASOS hat that I bought earlier in the year. I'm not really a hat person, but I do like a slouchy beanie, especially when it's a bit jazzy like this one. This dress was also a recent purchase from a shopping trip to Nottingham. I have well and truly jumped on the tartan bandwagon this season and I've built up quite a collection of tartan garments. I picked up this beauty from Primark for £13 which is quite a steal. It's a smock style dress that flares out under the bust, so it could give off quite a weird shape as it's really loose and doesn't follow the shape of your body, but I quite like the oversized look to wear casual. My boots are also a new addition to my collection. I love boots from New Look, they're so affordable that you can buy several different styles to change up your footwear. I bought these as I didn't really have any flat boots and I wanted some that I would be able to wear all day (I know they still have a slight heel but I tried!). I also love the lace up and buckle detailing, which just adds to my casual winter look.
What do you think to my latest outfit?

Aww thanks Jess!
DeleteI couldn't stop looking at my nails, the effect reminded me of a mermaid's tail with all the glitter, it almost looked like scales! I bought the hat in February to take to Paris and it was such a good purchase it was THAT cold, it's been hidden away in my drawer so I'm glad it's cold enough to bring it out again! I'm sure ASOS will have loads of similar hats this season :)

Loving your nails! I'm definitely gonna be trying that out! Thanks for sharing :) xx

Thanks Emma! It does create a really cool effect, there's so many colours and textures it looks really iridescent and almost 3D! Revlon have loads of glittery nail polishes like this in a variety of colours, so it will be easy to create this look in whatever colour you fancy!

Thanks! I don't go into Primark that often, but they really do have some nice things in, this dress being one of them :) They have gone a bit tartan crazy at the minute so I'm sure you will be able to find this, if not a similar dress from them :)

oo i like your beanie! Wish I could find a beanie that suited me! Haven't primark done well with tartan? It's a bit more subtle in these darker colours, and it really suits you wit red lippie!

Thanks! I bought it from ASOS early last year and it's been tucked away in a drawer, so I'm glad I can get it out again! I think places like River Island, Missguided as well as ASOS will have similar style beanies in now, I don't really suit any hats as my hair is too thick and they don't fit properly! But I can get away with it with a slouchy beanie :p
DeleteEveryone has gone crazy over Primark's tartan range! I'm surprised that this dress wasn't sold out it is so lovely! I tend to go for the darker colours rather than the traditional bright red tartan :p
